1⁄2  cup sugar

1⁄2  cup water


flavor of choice

5 sprigs fresh thyme

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon rose water


  1. In a small non-reactive pan, combine sugar and water.
  2. Bring just to a boil over medium heat, stirring so as not to burn, allowing sugar to thoroughly dissolve.
  3. Reduce heat to low, add flavor, and steep for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cool before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

TIP:

Use this for lemonade, cocktails, or desserts!
